Silly season F1

Här kommer lite mer skvaller och rykten ifrån F1-cirkusen. det är på engelska och jag orkar inte översätta. Håll till godo.

Force India to unveil drivers in December

Vijay Mallya says Force India will reveal their drivers for the 2008 season in Monaco in December. The Indian magnate is the co-owner of the Silverstone-based constructor and will address the Motor Sport Business Forum in the Principality. Mallya hopes to get maximum exposure at this event. "From a business point of view, Monaco in early December is therefore the ideal place and time to introduce the Force India F1 concept to the great and good of the global motor sport industry," he told The Asian Age.
Adrian Sutil has been confirmed with the team for next season and the likes of Narain Karthikeyan, Christian Klien, Vitatonio Liuzzi and Ralf Schumacher are all vying for the vacant second seat.

Annan site:As a result, Vitantonio Liuzzi and Christian Klein look the likeliest contenders to step into the remaining race seat and both are testing with the team this week. Dutch test driver Giedo van der Garde is also in line the race seat.

Tost: Red Bull are holding Alonso talks

Franz Tost has told an Austrian newspaper that Toro Rosso's parent team Red Bull are in talks with Fernando Alonso.
-"As far as I know, there are talks between Red Bull and Alonso."

However, he denied the verity of the speculation linking David Coulthard with a switch to his team. The rumour mill has churned out a story which claims that the Scottish veteran will have to vacate his seat for the two-time World Champ. But the team principal of the Faenza-based constructor explained that the two Sebastiens, and not Coulthard, would race for his team in 2008. "We have contracts with Vettel and Bourdais," he said. "That is the facts, and everything else is conjecture." Tost also revealed that Toro Rosso would use this season's challenger for "the first four races" of 2008. He explained that this was to ensure good reliability over the year because if "new car has problems, then we have time to react."

Could Bourdais wait for F1 until 2009?
Rumours are circulating that Champ Car ace Sebastien Bourdais’s arrival in F1 could be delayed by another season.Bourdais has signed a deal to drive for Toro Rosso next season but it appears he could now miss out until 2009 as part of the knock-on effect by Fernando Alonso’s next move.Alonso has been tipped to drive for Red Bull next season alongside Mark Webber, with David Coulthard dropping down to Red Bull B team Toro Rosso. That would leave no space for Bourdais who, when asked about the rumours this week, snapped “the drivers are always last to know."

BMW eye Asmer to replace Glock.

BMW team principal Mario Theissen has revealed that British F3 Champions Marko Asmer is a leading contender for BMW's vacant test driver seat.
And Theissen confirmed that a few drivers would be handed the opportunity to prove their credentials in testing at Jerez, as the team look for Glock's replacement.
Robert Doornbos, formerly of Red Bull, has been touted as another possibility.

Courts to rule on Glock
Timo Glock’s F1 future looks set to be decided in the courts, with both BMW-Sauber and Toyota insisting they have a contract with him for 2008.
Glock has doubled up his GP2 season – where he won the title – with testing for BMW-Sauber in F1.And while the German team are keen to see him join Toyota and gain F1 experience there – BMW-Sauber also want to tie him to a contract for 2009 where he is being lined up to drive for the team. But Toyota are reluctant to snap up an F1 rising star for a solitary season.

Honda tipped for Schumacher swoop!

Speculation is mounting that Michael Schumacher could be lured back to Formula 1 by former mentor Ross Brawn.Brawn was the technical director behind Schumacher’s years of success at Ferrari and, having taken over at the helm of Honda, has been linked with a move for his old driver.
His approach, however, is likely to meet a number of stumbling blocks, not least of all the contracts the team has with Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello. In addition, Schumacher would need some sizeable persuading – financially plus promises of the team turning things around rapidly – to come out of retirement.

Phillip Island keen on Oz GP.
Phillip Island is pushing to host the Australian Grand Prix instead of Albert Park when the current F1 contract expires.
Phillip Island has a keen motorsport history and houses a round on the MotoGP calendar each season. However, Albert Park has a contract with the race until 2011 but is growing increasingly concerned at its growing financial loss from the race.
Phillip Island, however, has no concerns, with plans for a new five-star hotel and 500 villas complete with golf course planned for the circuit.
